Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Be a citizen of the United States.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be free of a felony record. A felony record shall mean having entered a plea of guilty, been found guilty, or otherwise having been convicted of an offense, the punishment for which could have been imprisonment in a federal penitentiary or a state penitentiary. The fact that an individual has received a pardon, or their record has been expunged shall not release the individual from having a felony record for the purpose of this regulation.

School Resource Officer (SRO)
Trumann Police Department – Trumann School District
The Trumann Police Department is accepting applications for the position of School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to the Trumann School District. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors, while also fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the school community.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing a safe and secure learning environment for students and staff.
Preventing and responding to criminal activity and safety concerns on school grounds.
Building trust and rapport with students through mentorship, guidance, and education.
Collaborating with school administrators, teachers, and staff to promote a positive learning environment.
Assisting in the development and implementation of safety plans, drills, and emergency response procedures.
Acting as a liaison between the school district and the Trumann Police Department.
Minimum Requirements:
Current certified law enforcement officer in good standing with the State of Arkansas.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with youth, parents, educators, and the community.
Commitment to professional conduct, integrity, and community-oriented policing.
