Fire Chief Revis Kemper
Chief Revis Kemper has served in the fire service for 17 years and has led the Trumann Fire Department as Fire Chief for the past 10 years. He began his career as a volunteer firefighter and progressed through the ranks before being appointed Fire Chief. He has expanded community risk reduction programs, strengthened training standards, modernized apparatus and communications systems, and established a full time Fire Marshal Division.
Through strategic grant development and responsible fiscal planning, Chief Kemper has successfully secured millions of dollars in external funding to support apparatus upgrades, facility reconstruction, equipment modernization, and life safety initiatives, significantly reducing the financial burden on local taxpayers.
In 2012, Chief Kemper was awarded the Arkansas Firefighter of the Year after removing a child from a residential structure fire and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation until emergency medical personnel arrived. The child survived. He was also recognized nationally by the American Red Cross with the Hero Award for his life saving actions.
He holds an Associate in Science degree from Connors State College in Oklahoma, as well as an Associate degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management from Arkansas State University.
Chief Kemper remains committed to professional development, operational readiness, and strengthening partnerships that enhance public safety for the citizens of Trumann and the surrounding fire district.
Assistant Fire Chief
Anthony Blackwood
Assistant Fire Chief Anthony Blackwood has dedicated sixteen years to the fire service, proudly protecting and serving the community he calls home. He began his career as a volunteer firefighter with the Central Fire Department before joining the Trumann Fire Department as a volunteer in March 2014. In June 2014, he was hired full-time and has faithfully served the department ever since.
In December 2014, Assistant Chief Blackwood graduated from the Arkansas Fire Academy. Through his extensive knowledge, leadership, and commitment to excellence, he has progressed through the ranks from Firefighter to Assistant Fire Chief.
Assistant Chief Blackwood has a deep passion for the City of Trumann and takes great pride in serving its citizens and visitors during their most challenging times. He considers the fire service to be one of the most rewarding professions imaginable and is honored to work alongside some of the finest firefighters in the field.
In addition to his leadership responsibilities, he is a state-certified Arson Investigator. He remains dedicated to ongoing training, mentoring the next generation of firefighters, and strengthening the Trumann Fire Department while continuing his steadfast service to the City of Trumann.
